Andre 3000 - New Blue Sun

"New Blue Sun is the continuation of discovery for me. My entire career has been fueled by this and it is the only thing that keeps me honest. This album is the most honest and interesting offering I can give today. I never could have imagined in high school, when I started rapping and doing music that I would be here right now playing wind instruments. Ha. This life ride always surprises me. I'm here for it." — Andre 3000 The 3LP is pressed on 180g black vinyl with a fold out poster, printed inner sleeves, eight postcards with original drawings, and a note from the artist.

Adrianne Lenker - Bright Future

Adrianne, a songwriter known for turns of phrase and currents of rhyme, says it plainly, "you have my heart // i want it back." Documented with analog precision, what began as an experiment in collaboration, became proof her heart did return, full to the brim, daring her into the unknown. Admirers of her solo music and Big Thief alike will find her reliable talent captured in stunning, magnetic clarity. Her vocal flights at times outwit gravity, then land, guiding along an earthly path. The wholeness of the unspliced recordings preserve a time of musical friendship during a golden season.

Sierra Ferrell - Trail of Flowers

One of the brightest young luminaries in roots music today, Sierra brings a dose of beautifully strange magic to everything she touches. On her new album Trail Of Flowers, brought to life with producer Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan, Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton) and additional production by Gary Paczosa (Alison Krauss, Dwight Yoakam, Gillian Welch) she expands her sound while deepening the urgency of her songs, often revealing a wealth of wisdom within her wildly imaginative storytelling.

Gary Clark Jr. - JPEG RAW

While retaining the deep and true resonance of his blues foundations and guitar virtuosity with subtlety yet conviction, he reaches well beyond this time. Hip samples, Thelonious Monk and Sonny Boy Williamson decorate flourishes of African, world music, and jazz while merging with blues, rock, R&B and rap; familiar areas he has ventured before, this time with more unity forging a fresh new style. Clark's lyrics are pointed, deeply personal, outspoken and socially conscious. The sonics are immersive verging on modern groove-oriented psychedelia with hip-hop driven beats in verses giving way to anthemic choruses, rich with power-chording and wide fuzz riffage.

Early Day Miners - Outside Lies Magic

EDM's early compositions, while in Bloomington, mirrored the seemingly inescapable expanse of the Midwest. Now based in New Orleans, their sound has yielded a subtle but correlative shift in the band. Outside Lies Magic offers an audible lightness. Most notably Dan Burton's voice, once hushed and at times hesitant, is now full-bodied and sure; his heart, once tenuously carried on his sleeve, is now firmly in his throat. And though this might be the leanest the lineup has been, they are focused and warm, exuding the maximalism of their new home with nuance and a laissez-faire approach. LP Only.

Waxahatchee - Tigers Blood

Katie Crutchfield was born in Alabama, grew up near Waxahatchee Creek. Skipped town and struck out on her own. She never knew the road would lead her here, but after 6 acclaimed albums, she's never felt more confident in herself as an artist. While her sound has evolved from lo-fi folk to lush alt-tinged country, her voice has always remained the same. Honest and close, poetic with Southern lilting. After years of sacrificing herself to her work and the road- Crutchfield has arrived at her most potent songwriting yet.

Julia Holter - Something in the Room She Moves

Recent years brought about for Julia an existential focus on human connection, amid the staggering change that came with the death of loved ones and the birth of her daughter. On her new album, Holter vividly processes the complexity, gravity, and awe of this confluence of experience. She calls the music "sensual," "flowing," and "nocturnal"- a testament to how love, with all of its challenges, "reroutes neural pathways." A remarkable progression in her oeuvre, synthesizing her free, improvisatory energy with her signature eloquence.

Alice Coltrane - The Carnegie Hall Concert

A previously unreleased recording of a historic 1971 concert. The original multi-track recording was commissioned by Impulse but wasn't released at the time. Features an all-star group including Pharoah Sanders, Archie Shepp, Jimmy Garrison, Cecil McBee, Ed Blackwell and others. This was a triple bill placing her in the company of Laura Nyro and The Rascals. Concert produced by Sid Bernstein, who promoted the first Beatles concert in the US.
